Counselling & Psychotherapy
My Counselling Practice
I am qualified with a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby which qualifies to work integratively combining Person Centred Therapy with Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). It is important to use methods which have good evidence for effective and safe ethical therapy. Importantly I work within the BACP ethical framework for your safety and assurance. I also work as a counsellor-psychotherapist for the NHS, helping clients work with a very wide range of problems and volunteer as a counsellor.
I am a trauma informed psychotherapist, which means I approach trauma in a safe manner. I am open to all clients within my scope of practice. I have experience with clients from the LGBQT community, and I am polyamory / ethical non-monogamy informed.
The most important component of counselling is relational depth ... that is the relationship between the counsellor and you, the client. It's proven that this relationship is more important than the type of therapy so I offer a free consultation session to get to know each other and decide if I'm a therapist you want to work with. Making that initial contact can be a huge step, but we can go at your pace.
If you think you would like us to work together, please send me an email so we can arrange a "get to know me" free consultation session.
